It's true.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Pixies, the greatest rock band ever to stand on a stage and scream indecipherable lyrics over wailing electric guitars, have booked a show.

It's a beautiful day.

fuck YEAH!

I paid $75 for a scalped ticket to their last tour, and it was the best $75 I've spent in my entire life.

I really don't want to see them at a mega-festival thingy, tho. I hate those. :/

Fuck yeah, indeed sister.

Last time I saw them was when they were on tour with U2. I refused to go see U2, but luckily, the Pixies did a side gig at the University of Arizona ballroom the night before the U2 show in Phoenix. It was the worst Pixies show ever. They were clearly pissed at each other, they started really late, and they played just long enough to fulfill their contractual obligations. I was bummed. I'm glad I saw them on an earlier tour when they weren't down on the whole thing.

Hopefully, this tour will be better. I think it will... Time heals all wounds, you know. But yeah, I'm not down with the festival thingy either. I don't wanna fight 500,000 Radiohead fans just to get to see the Pixies play from 300 yards away for 30 minutes.

old age, treachery
I'm a young whippersnapper who was in junior high when the Pixies detonated. I would gladly fight 500,000 Radiohead fans to get to see the Pixies play from 300 yards away for 30 minutes.

I was just reading about the Pixies, I never knew Steve Albini charged them only 1,500 bucks to record Surfer Rosa....Albini is such a crank, he says he doesn't like the Pixies, but shit I think it's a great record.

I think he was bummed because after Surfer Rosa, they weren't the big thing he expected. It wasn't until after Doolittle that they really started getting recognition, but by that time, they had parted ways with him.
