I haven't ever tried iTunes out, so I can't speak for the quality. I know that the stuff on Rhapsody is a higher bitrate than I usually rip at, so I can vouch for it.

That's all kind of irrelavent though for most people. I'm just sick of watching the recording industry search and search for someone to blame for their shitty sales when it's so obvious. They put all their money and marketing behind a select few marginally talented artists that appeal to a single demographic. A demographic, by the way, that has to get all its money from its parents, who are not convinced that these artists are worth spending any money on. I'm sure if they factored in sales AND concert revenue by bands that are on indie labels, they'd see much better numbers.

I've got nothing against Apple or iPod. They're good looking devices and they're in a package that most people can use easily. Feature and price-wise, they don't make sense, but I guess if people are willing to pay for it, then more power to them.

Imagine listening to shitty bands and shitty quality, two strikes. blah.

I'm just bitter. I remember when you HAD to go to the record store to listen to music and it was a very private moment. Now we are bombarded with convenient music service. Not to mention, before the internet, you actually had to research a little before making that purchase. Damn these kids have it too easy!!
I just really appreciate the in-store music experience I guess.

I hear you. I'm thankful for both though. There's a part of me that runs on instant gratification, and there's a part that loves to dig and dig and dig through bins looking for treasure.

What are kids going to dig for in 20 years? Ashley Simpson?
