Whoa!

Hey Amazon... How about showing me stuff that I can actually purchase FROM YOU, as opposed to from every other jerk who figured out how to register a domain name? And while you're at it, how about just showing me the price of the thing NEW. If I want to see how much your buddy Dave is selling the one he's had for a year, I'll go looking for it.

Jeez. The whole site is like a freakin' garage sale now. Can't find a thing.

I agree. I have pretty much stopped buying things off amazon because of this. It just drives me nuts. When I search for something, I want to see the 20 or so items that amazon CURRENTLY CARRIES.

Instead, I have to wade through 4 pages of discontinued items and amazon marketplace entries.

Why not just have a button on or two on the search results page - "Show me results in the amazon marketplace" and "Show me discontinued items".

I know some people go on amazon to look up reviews and stats on older products (which I do from time to time), but that is an exception case, not the normal use case. I guess they don't want me to buy things from them, but to use their database to look things up before going to another site to make the purchase (which is what I use amazon for now).

Then again, this is the same company that brought you the worlds most annoying top.focus() on every page (making tabbed browsing on amazon a fiasco of inasnity).
