I'm listening to an advance of the new Elvis Costello album that's coming out next month. It's mainly just him and the piano, and the occasional orchestra. You know, it's very pretty and all, but not my bag. I can appreciate that he has an amazing and unique vocal style, arrangement style, and he writes incredibly complex and interesting songs, but I really, REALLY love rock and roll Elvis. The last album was a rock and roll album, and it was so freaking good, that when I saw this new one floating around on the internet, I could only stop backflipping long enough to download it. Now that I know it's a soft-and-sensitive album, I'm kind of bummed. I'm thinking he ought to record these under a different name or something.

Don't worry too much though. I think I read something about him having like 3 or 4 albums worth of material ready to go. The only reason he's not releasing it is that the record label thinks it's better to space it out... or something. When I just saw him in Berkeley he played a ROCKIN set. Two hours of full tilt rock n' roll. There were several new songs in there that I had never heard before, and they all rocked tha hizzy. I sort of thought that one of them would be the new single for the upcoming album... I guess not.

Re: Bummer
I see that you all are going to enjoy talking with Seth about Elvis Costello while I sulk in a corner. Phooey. Oh, well, I'm still looking forward to it.

Re: Bummer
I missed something... Simon was mentioned regarding curtains earlier but the only thing I could think of was my friend's cat... but that's okay. I'm looking forward to laughing at this mysterious Simon.

Elvis is in love with jazz great Diana Krall...
they always go all sensitive when they're happy.

I listen to KFOG in SanFran on line at work and
never get tired of hearing them play "Oliver's Army".
