I don't watch TV at all. TV rots your mind, you know. Everything on TV is a mindless waste of time and brain. Instead of watching TV, I read constantly. And paint. I don't need TV. Do you watch TV? Yeah, you're a slave to it I'll bet. Dude, I am soooo much more intelligent than you because I don't watch TV. TV is for low-class white trash who don't have any creativity. Do you realize how little you use your brain when you're watching TV? I mean come on! It's so passive and wasteful. The only reason I even have a TV is so I can watch movies. I watch a lot of movies. That's different though. Movies are different than TV. Movies are art. TV is just mindless crap. So it's ok to watch lots and lots of movies but if you're spending your time watching TV, you might as well just have the ol' brain removed right now and given to someone who's actually going to USE it.

I feel sorry for you. I really do. It must be really frustrating to be such a slave to the machine that you're willing to endure all this horrifying commercialism just so you can watch 22 minutes of ridiculous and stupid bullshit. You'd be so much better off having a conversation about world issues with someone in a coffee shop in Capitol Hill. THAT is a valid use of your time. TV is not. I know that you can't comprehend that, because you're so blinded by your TV loyalty, but trust me. I know what the best use of your time is, and TV it is not.

By the way, do you think it'd be ok if I came over again this weekend to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm?

i love tv! tv is my friend! tv is my best friend. when i'm not watching tv, i'm thinking about the next time i can watch tv. sometimes i worry that the tv won't be there for me in the morning, so i get up in the middle of the night to check on it. it gets lonely without me.

i'm not ashamed to say that i like tv & watch it regularly (the tivo tells me to).

but, curb your enthusiasm is one of the least-funny shows i've ever tried to endure. i can't comprehend why it's so popular, even among those who hate tv :)

I've never actually seen it, but that's one of those shows that those who loathe the TV seem to love.

I abhore television. Notice how I called it "television" and not "TV," because "TV" is a nickname, and nicknames are for friends, and television is no friend of mine.

But if you guys are gonna watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, could you tape it for me? Thanks.

Dude. I got this thing called teevough.. it's fucking rad. it sends out these teevee gnomes and they find really shitty stuff and then bring it back it for me so that I can see it when I get home. Teevough and the gnomes of teevoughnia make me feel safe, because I know they're out there. It's kinda like when a cat brings dead things into the house to let you know he's protecting you... or something.

Heathen! I find it difficult to accept such rubbish spewn from a longtime comrade of Jumbotron. How quickly one has forgotten the bygone days of joy brought to use from the revered thespian troupe of formerly known as The State. Without cable television how would the gospel of Doug be spread throughout the land? Who amongst us would have been privy to antics of Louie and his balls if not for the warm soothing glow of the cathode ray tube? Without such a media, the treacherous perils of the Sideways House would never be spoken of and it's curse would loom like large.

Nay, I for one can proclaim that televison is my PAL, but I reckon that is because I am Euro trash. NTSC certainly is no friend of mine...

oh gawd. we get the same bullshit from acquitances too. and sometimes it's not just because they're too snobby for tv but also because they're too cheap to get cable. not too broke. those friends we have pity for and are cool with them coming over.
anyways. i'm sure there's some american justice or people's court i should be watching.

The Vast Wasteland...
It's just another symptom of the dumbing down of American society.

That's not to say I don't watch TV. And Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the best written and performed shows on tv.

Now I hear you're intersted in vinyl 45's????

Send me a list. Maybe I can help.

Re: The Vast Wasteland...
I was joking. I freaking LOVE tv. I found myself defending TV, and all of its glory, the other day.

As for the 45's, the list of stuff I want is long, and the list of great stuff I haven't heard yet is probably longer. I mainly want 60's and early 70's soul and funk. Stax, Volt, Chess, Cadet, etc... Sometime within the next couple of days, I'm planning to make a list...
