Morning show DJs: Worthless

Those who know me know that it's no secret that I fucking HATE morning show DJs*. I hate them with the white hot fire of a thousand suns. They are useless, not at all funny, egotistical, and truly idiotic (and not in a good way). They're like the 4th grade class clown that never matured. They're like the sleazy 36 year old dude who still lives in his mom's basement, drives a brown camaro with a primered fender, and hits on 21-year old girls during 80's night at the local club.

And now, I hate them even more:

Now, I'm not normally one to say that an entire groups should be punished for the actions of a few, but in this case, I'll make an exception. I'm not going to suggest YOU do anything to your local morning DJs, but I know that the next time I meet one, I'm gonna kick his shin really hard with my steel toe and tell him to get a real job.

*Disclaimer: Not every DJ that appears on the radio in the morning is a "morning show DJ". I'm referring to the "morning zoo" types. The kind where there are two or three of them sitting around trying to do comedy, and using wacky sound effects for emphasis. They're making prank calls, and ripping off the lists from Top Five, and they have one guy who exists solely to laugh like a hyena at the stuff the other guys do and say.

haven't listened to a radio station since the days of murray the k, jocko, frankie crocker, don k reed and the king himself, alan freed...and that is why i throw in a cd of some good r&b or soul or jazz or doo-wop where i can enjoy the music that i love without commercial interruption or the ramblings of some fuckheads with their sidekick bimbos who have the iq of a pubic hair...

WHAT is with this new pseudo-apology that people always say now, too: "I'm sorry that the comments were misinterpreted." Yeah...I'm sorry that "open a car door in front of a bicyclist" was interpreted as "open a car door in front of a bicyclist." And I apologize for your deficiency in interpretation.

So...no apology then? Just kind of a smug way of blaming the people who are offended?

it happened here a while ago, too
This happened like a year ago...

One of the "morning show" DJs at a local station encouraged cars to squeeze out or pull toward lane-splitting motorcycles because it wasn't fair that they should get to go past the traffic jams. After many angry calls, they issued a "retraction" the next day, but I'm sure the damage had already been done.

Most car drivers don't realize that it is LEGAL in California for us to do that. Or they know it and are still pissed being trapped in their cage.

Clear Channel Blows
Clear Channel, hm?

This is the same company that issued it's stations lists of songs that were to be banned from playlists after September 11th.

Songs like "It A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

Only moronic lemmings would follow the instructions of these pseudo-brown shirts.

Pure Evil
I read this yesterday, and I was like "What the Fuck?" Yup, just like that. I mean really, it is almost unfathomable. I really can't even think of anything that can justify this. Uhhhh, I think that because I'm stuck in traffic, and late for work, and some dude rides past me on his bike, that I can KILL or SEVERELY INJURE him. Yeah, that'll hold up in court. I'm so mad about this that I can't even pull together all the reasons why. Also, I love the way that clear channel said that it was a "coincidence" that three DJ's in three separate cities urged people to hurt cyclists on the same day. Wow, now that, I'll believe...
