Waiting in line at Guild 45th for preview of Primer. Things I've noted so far:

- couple in front of me talking about how they got a bigger house because they have so much furniture.

- occupants of passing car yell, "MOVIES SUCK" at the line

- blue P200 rides by. Bush/Cheney sticker on cowl.

- dude with homemade "vote for Pedro" shirt. I scoff at his attempt to be cool (he's equivalent to the guy at a concert wearing the t-shirt of the band) while wishing I'd thought of it first.

Oh, Seattle... So wacky are you.

Re: At a loss for words
Whatever, just go run to the local record store and spend all your money on vintage vinyl and try and convince people you have owned it for years.

Your types come in and out of the scooter scene because you honestly think music is a huge portion of the scene. You never learn to work on your own bikes and our more worried about the latest and lamest haircut or some band out of Sweden.

Re: At a loss for words
1. I don't own a scooter and have never been part of the "scene."

2. I don't own any vinyl.

3. I live in Yuba City. There are no decent record stores.

Relax, cupcake

Re: At a loss for words
Well then since you don't have a scooter and know nothing about the scene, that was an ignorant comment on your part.

Isn't assuming facts about me to make me "them" ignorant in itself?

It was a joke!

I have lots of friends that scoot. I haven't noticed much of a common bond, other than scooters.

However, Bush is an ass.

Boys... boys... boys... take this shit somewhere else. Ryan, if you want to talk shit and flex your old-school muscles as you tend to do, that's fine, but you can talk shit about my friend on your own fucking journal (not like you ever post on it), cause coming in here and acting like you're the scene god is bullshit.

PS: How is "yawn" an ignorant comment?

Re: At a loss for words
"yawn" was not

"A pro-Bush scooter? That's ... agh. fuck" is.

Re: At a loss for words
I am not flexing anything Steve. I just thought it was a stupid response to somebody having a Bush/Cheney sticker on a scooter (since politics and scooter have absolutely zero in common).

Me being an ass, well that was me being an ass :)

Re: At a loss for words
I disagree. In general, most of the scooterists I know (yourself excluded) are anti-Bush. Scooterists seem to me to be fairly progressive in their politics and not very accepting of Bush's traditional values.

I totally acknowledge that there are probably pro-Bush scooterists, but they are generally pretty rare. Even more so in Seattle.

Frankly, I'm disappointed that a scooterist would support Bush. Someone who truly appreciates their scooter is someone who enjoys the minimalist and economic nature of it, and the overall unity the scene can support. Bush supporters tend to be the opposite. I'd be willing to bet that 80% of the large SUVs that back over scooters and just leave them on their sides are piloted by self-important, elitist Bush supporters.

Regarding flexing: yeah... you were. Not owning a scooter doesn't disqualify you from having an opinion about the scene, and attacking someone's sense of style in that context is just downright ridiculous. There are plently of scooterists that are more concerned about their hair than kz. That fact about KZ is that he's close friends with quite a few scooterists - scooterists that even you would consider REAL scooterists, who work on thier own bikes and ride a hell of a lot more than most of the people I know. Given the fact that he lives in rural Bumblefuck, you can bet that if and when KZ gets a bike, he'll be working on his own shit.

You should get to know someone before you decide to try to dis everything about them.

Re: At a loss for words
First I don't support the Bush administration. I also really don't find anything to like about the Republican or Democratic parties as they are today. If anything I am Libertarian. I really don't identify with either of the big two parties.

Second, In Seattle, most people tend to drive SUVs and it is a Democratic stronghold, soooooo, therefore a lot of Democrats drive SUVs.

As for the flexing, I was being an ass in response to what I thought was an ass comment. I was making some broad comments in response to a broad generalization about somebody having a Bush/Cheney sticker on their Vespa. I think having a Kerry/Edwards sticker on any vehicle is just as ridiculous. I have nothing against KZ, just against a generalization about scooterists.
