I spent roughly five hours on scooter-back today doing the long ride for Head to the Hills, which is a really awesome east bay scooter rally. We rode on some ridiculous patches of asphalt that someone foolishly drew on maps and mistook for actual roads. Actually, most of the roads were pretty great. Lots of twisty turns and big sweeping curves. I stayed near the front of the pack so I could haul ass through all of them, risking my life roughly four or five times a minute. Later in the day, we found a lot of single lane (one lane totaly, not one in each direction) highways and some really curvy roads that were just falling apart and seemed like they might just slide down the mountain at any minute.
The ride came in somewhere around a hundred miles... maybe a little more. It only rained for the last twenty or so, so that was good. I wish I could have taken some pictures, but all the really amazing scenery was blowing by me at 60 miles per hour as I ripped through 30mph turns with my exhaust scraping the ground. I need to take a motorcycle out on some of those roads some time. Some stretches would have been way more fun with more power.
Oh, this is for CupCate:
