On Vox: I'm super serious

Background: Most of you don't know that Krissy doesn't actually write the Question of the Day at midnight. She writes it whenever she wants, and then she just future-dates the post. We have a little auto-publisher job that then turns it live at the right time.

So today, she found what appears to be a bug with relative time stamps and future dated stuff. She wrote a QotD and it said it was going to post in 40 minutes. We told her not to worry and she went away. She returned a few minutes ago and this conversation happened:

Krissy: The QotD says it's going to post in nine minutes. I just keep refreshing. I'm really scared.
Me: Don't worry. It's not going to post
K: But what's going to happen? I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN!!
Me: Hmmm... I don't know either. Is the time on the actual post detail correct?
K: Yeah
Me: Well, ok then. You're probably ok.

Randy and I then explain that it's probably showing the relative timestamp as related to UTC for some reason.

Me: Whatever you do, after that nine minutes, DO NOT point your monitor at a mirror and then look at the post in a mirror. You will see shit that you cannot unsee, and I can't be responsible for what will happen.
K: Did you just make that up?
Me: It's in the knowledgebase, dude. Look it up! Read the Terms of Service too. We cannot be held responsible for misuse of the service!

I'm serious. You don't want to fuck with the supernatural.

I just got my regular mailer from Slim's and Great American Music Hall and it appears that The Rentals are going to be playing at GAMH ON MY BIRTHDAY!! So fucking awesome. This solves the following problems:

  • I don't have to go in to the Soul Crushing Abyss of the greater Los Angeles area to see them in July
  • I get to hear what they've been working on since they reformed
  • I have something fun to do on my birthday
Tickets go on sale this Sunday. I'd love it if any of you homies would join me for the show!

On Vox: Fuck YES, part 2

Oh man. I forgot about the new Aggrolites album. It came out last week. I just pulled it down off eMusic and have only taken a cursory swipe at it so far, so there is no review as of yet. I think I'll save it for the nice long flight I have tomorrow.

I'm not gonna leave you hangin' though. I'll give you this track which, if I remember correctly from their live show, RIPS.

09 - Lucky Streak
