On Vox: Walking the walk

Yesterday morning, I rode about a hundred miles round trip to San Jose so I could buy tickets to see The Roots next month. Sure, I could have just gone to Ticketmaster's web site and bought them there, paying an additional nine fucking fifty per $36 ticket, but which act seems less rational?

After I got home and did some school work, I headed back out, this time to the Fillmore box office to buy tickets to see Girl Talk. Again, I could have gone through Ticketmaster, but for those tickets I'd have had the pleasure of paying $8.55 per $20 ticket. Yes, that's almost half the ticket price.

So, for about ten bucks' worth of gas and a couple of hours of riding my motorcycle around on a nice day, I saved almost $40, and sent Ticketmaster a teeny tiny message that they do not, in fact, have a monopoly, as their prices would suggest. Fuck you, Ticketmaster.
