This morning before heading out I decided that I'd take the day off from being a murderer, so I left the Max D 2000 at home. I wasn't taking the day off from watching my back though, so I rolled out with a couple of small handguns in my jacket pockets. In retrospect, this was a dumb idea. These little guns don't really do much and would probably not be very effective in a self-defense situation. Still, I really didn't feel like spending the day with a wet bag, and I was in a hurry to get out the door this morning, so I left the heavy stuff home.
The ride to work was uneventful. No sign of my killer(s). I rolled in to work two minutes late for sexual harassment training, which took my mind off Steve harassment reality.
After the training, I checked up on the website and found that I'd gotten the first kill of the game. Woohoo!!
Lunch was also uneventful, but still a little stressful. I ate right near work, and I was overly suspicious of everyone in the place. I ate with my jacket on so I could quickly get to my little guns in the pockets. Next time, I'll bring the Max D and just lay it right on the table like Jules in Pulp Fiction.
Hmmm... perhaps I'll quote the bible next time I'm gonna soak someone.
As I was getting ready to leave work, I got a call from Susie that there were a couple of people staking out the house from the back seat of a car across the street. She gave me a good description of the car and where it was located, and I headed out. I felt nice and relaxed on my ride, since I was pretty sure the killer was at my house. That's a weird sentence.
I stopped off at Safeway to pick up some rice for dinner.
When I got back to our neighborhood, I did some lights-off scooter skulking and eventually encountered my killers at a corner near my house, presumably as they were leaving after giving up. They tried to sort of nonchalantly corner me, but pulled a quick loop and lost them. I got home alive and will hopefully live to see karaoke tonight.
Tomorrow I start working on the next target.
