Steve's management tips...

I don't see why James Brown has to ask the band like FOUR times if he should "take 'em to the bridge". I mean, it's HIS band. He's in charge, right? He should be TELLING them that he's gonna take 'em to the bridge. James really needs to be more assertive with his subordinates. I mean, from a band member's perspective, what kind of leadership is that? How are they supposed to have any sort of confidence in James' ability to lead them to success if he can't make simple decisions regarding the appropriate times to "take 'em to the bridge" or even "hit it and quit" without constant reassurance from the band that it's ok? Don't get me wrong now... I believe every good leader has advisors working under him who can offer valuable insight into, in this case, song performance strategy. But at some point, you have to say "This is my show, man. I'm the fucking Godfather of Soul! If anyone knows whether or not this is the appropriate time to take 'em to the bridge, it's ME, BABY!"

Poor James. Desperate for approval.
