A moment of silence

I've just received confirmation that Tucson's PDQ Records and Tapes, one of the greatest record stores on Planet Earth, is no longer. Where is your God now?

How can this be? Is there a different shop that will open somewhere else?

I have found a number of jazz gems in that place AND a couple of really rare Northern Soul singles. I could always count on that place to hook me up. Damn it all.

A frikkin' gold mine! Last time I was there, I picked out about 20 45s close to closing time. Instead of looking them all up, the guy just said, "Ok... $3 for everything on the original label and $2 for everything else." Solid.

I was fucking there for that moment! FUCK!

A definite moment of silence for a fucking Tucson institution.

I can still remember the smell of that place. Sad!

No, it's still there, alive and well!

PDQ on Grant and Dodge has a new owner and is called Judy's Record Exchange, or something like that. They cleaned up the place and removed a bunch of junk. They also switched the records and CD sections. They are also expanding the place. They let the old staff go and hired new ones, or theold staff quit.

They brought back the turntable and headphones so you can preview records too.

Hope this helps! :)

Oh, I don't work there, but have been a loyal customer for a couple of decades.
