Nice little Saturday

I played about three hours of Guitar Hero today and now my back and hands hurt. Duh. At least my vision has stopped stretching out in strange ways. After that, Susie and I went to Chinatown to watch the Chinese New Year's parade. Unfortunately, we go there way too late and we couldn't see much. Mostly just heads. We walked down to Market and up the parade route and found little spots where we could see some stuff. There were lots of dragons and firecrackers exploding. It was pretty cool. We walked around a bit and then headed back to the Sunset, where we stopped in at our neighborhood Irish pub, the Shannon Arms. Holy shit... when I say Irish pub, I don't just mean some place that has a tap of Guinness next to the Bud and Bud Light. This place was very heavily Irish, and loaded with actual Irish people, who often said things like "SHITE" and "AAAHHHH FUCK YAS!" Premiere league football was on all but one of the TVs. We contemplated getting pissed, but we opted to head to the store and stock up on some provisions and then head home to party with the animals. We're now watching the rest of the parade on HD TV, and I hate to say it, but it's way better than actually being there.

Happy new year!

Have you been to to the Moon and Sixpence (I think that's the name) on, uh, Geary? I always feel like I've been dropped into Ireland, complete with The Guy That Never Leaves at the bar and darts. And....shhhhh...smoking!

Ahhh, yes. I forgot about that. Janelle and I tried to go to the parade last year (I think we tried to go to a Sugar-Pie Desanto show, which was sold out, and it was near the parade route). As I remember, we mostly saw the backs of peoples heads too. Still, there were lots of neat firecrackers, and a floating dragon... so we had that going for us... which was nice.
