We have a small drying rack next to our sink. Lately, it's full all the time because the dishwasher is broken and I don't have the stomach to talk to the landlord for more than 30 seconds. So, we wash all the dishes in the sink, and then pile them up on the drying rack. This usually results in something we refer to around here as "Dish Jenga".
So a few minutes ago, there was a crash. Dish Jenga was over. The only casualty was a Guinness glass I'd stolen from the Westward Ho in Vegas. Don't ask.
Anyway, we were lamenting the perils of Dish Jenga when Susie realized that the obvious solution would be a larger drying rack. I replied that we have the dishwasher, which is like a gigantic drying rack if you think about it. I figured we could put clean dishes in the dishwasher after washing them in the sink, and we'd just use that instead of the cabinets. Then I realized that we could just put the dirty dishes in the cabinets so they wouldn't pile up in the sink!!! IT'S FREAKING GENIUS!!!
I'm not entirely sober right now.
