I had a dentist appointment yesterday. Considering how long it's been since my last dentist visit, the news wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I have a couple of serious cleanings coming up, but overall, nothing crazy. I was there, however, to take care of a broken filling that was causing me pain. She drilled it out and filled and it's pretty much ok now, so that's good.
I did, however, manage to bite my tongue worse then I've ever bitten it before. I blame the weird appointment time - 12:30pm. I didn't want to eat anything before the appointment, because I didn't want there to be any food stuck in my teeth while she was in there. By the time she got through x-raying, poking, drilling, filling, testing, lecturing, etc..., it was almost 3pm and I was STARVING. She warned me to be careful while my mouth was still numb, but I had to eat something, or I might die. Halfway through lunch, I tasted blood, and I knew I'd fucked up.
It wasn't until the novacaine wore off that I really realized the extent of the damage. I bit pretty hard. The whole right side of my tongue is swollen and mangled. It looks like I made out with a shark. Or several sharks. It's pretty painful. I hope it heals quickly!
